Harry Weber Obituary

HARRY L. WEBER
MOUNTAIN TOP, PA - Harry L. Weber, 89, of Mountain Top, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010, at the home of his daughter, Kathryn Lines, Mountain Top. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late John G. and Augusta (Schadel) Weber.
He was a Colonel in U.S. Army having retired in 1973 after 33 years of service. He served in WWII with the 109th Field Artillery, in the Korean Conflict, and served as the Nuclear Officer for the State of PA National Guard. He was a charter member and past President of the Mountain Top Kiwanis, a member of the Mountain Top American Legion Post 781, a former member and council President of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre, and a Sunday school teacher and Superintendent.
Harry was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his wife, the former Frieda C. Stewart; sisters, Bertha Weber, Ruth Oswald, and Helen Craig; brothers, George J. Weber, Carl Weber and infant twin brothers; and grandchildren, Nicole Susan Lines and Robin Lynn Voorheis.
He is survived by his son, Harry A. Weber and his wife Barbara, Ithaca, NY; daughter, Kathryn Lines and her husband, Redmond, Mountain Top; brother, Fred Weber, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Marion Zawilski, Mountain Top; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 13th, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mountain Top, with Pastor Michele Kaufman officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, PA 18707, and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 316 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, PA 18707 or Diakon Hospice Saint John, 1201-B N. Church St., Hazleton, PA 18202.
