I was very saddened to hear of Laurie's passing last November. Since I am now in Denver, I am not always on top of the Steamboat news, and just saw the obituary yesterday. I met her when she worked as a server at the In Season bakery back in the nineties, remembered her from the performing arts, and would often run into her around town. She was such a sweet, loving soul, always in a good mood, and always kind to everyone. I hope she is at peace. My condolences to all who have known her.

I haven't seen Laurie in many years but am shocked and saddened. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. I knew Wayne and Russel (her brothers). May God Bless you and your families.

I met Laurie in 1988. She was great. Loved her at first. ( friend love). She was my brothers girlfriend. I thought so good together. Still do. We are so deeply sad about our loss. She smiles down on all who love her.

Laurie and I were in Caberet together, a few years in a row. A fun loving funny spirit filled the room when she would enter, she had personality plus!!! And fun to work with in skits and song.... I Remember when she was pregnant with Georgia Pearl, who 5 years later I had the honor of interviewing on the radio (as star student of the week.) I called Laurie after the interview with Georgia Pearl to say how proud she must be to have such a beautiful, thoughtful, fun-loving child as Georgia Pearl. I think that was the last time I spoke with her but when I learned of her passing I became very sad and I would like to extend my sympathies to her family, her friends and of course to Georgia Pearl. I am so very sorry for your lost. God be with you all. Much love, Kristin

When I muse upon memories of highschool, I remember a vivid, fresh, and refreshingly direct and open young girl. Laurie had some of the qualities of a wild and completely innocent woodland creature that had just now stepped out of the treeline to join us in the raucous hallway, but she wasn't shy. Far from it, she had a mischievous, even devilish twinkle in her eyes. Our paths went separate ways after graduation and I only ran into her once many years later. Life and the years had not left her unchanged, of course, but it was the Sun and laughter that had left their mark upon her face--clues to a life embraced in joy, well-lived. If a light has gone out of the world, it has been more than recompensed, even in the short time I was fortunate to be Laurie's friend, by the happiness shining from her eyes and the joy bubbling in her laugh.
