Lowell Harding Obituary
ITHACA - Lowell H. Harding, age 73, a longtime area resident, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Cortland Regional Medical Center. He had previously been a patient at Northwoods Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Cortland, NY. Lowell was born in Oneonta, NY, on April 12, 1934 to the late Harold M. and Louise Shaver Harding. He was raised and educated in Ithaca and was employed for many years at Ithaca College in food service. Previously he was employed by several Cornell fraternities. He was known to frequent the Salvation Army and Loaves & Fishes.
Survivors include his brother, John W. "Jack" (Mary) Harding of Freeville; his nephew, William J. (Carla) Harding of Dryden; and his niece, Marcia L. Harding of Dryden; two great-nephews, Ryan and Kevin Harding.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ithaca. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com

The most lasting memory we have of Lowell is his faithfulness to his Lord. Week after week he pedaled his bike from downtown Ithaca, out Slaterville Road, and into the Bethel Grove Bible Church parking lot even when his arthritis became more and more acute. He was a unique and special person.

I remember Lowell from our school days at Belle Sherman Elementary School in the 1940's. He has a good friend and always helping the younger children. May he rest in peace. My sympathy to his family.

I rember Lowell in school - Lowell always took care of the flag at the Frank David Boyton school on buffalo st . I also rember his bicycle with all the flags and his personal things with him for the day. Long time friend

For years Lowell was a fixture on the Ithaca Streets with his bicycle with flags on the handle bars. My sympathies to his family.
