ObituaryTHOMAS ALEXANDER (ALEX) SCOTT"Okie-Dokie"BEAVER DAMS - Thomas Alexander Scott, age 14, of Buck Hollow Rd., Beaver Dams, NY, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, June 6, 2003.Alex was born May 1, 1989 in Elmira, NY, the son of Thomas A. and Cynthia L. (Thomas) Scott. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Christine Scott in 1993; and maternal great-grandparents, Claude and Hazel Swanson.Alex is survived by his loving mother, Cynthia Thomas-Scott (fiancée Bruce Moshier) of Beaver Dams, NY; loving father, Thomas A. (Nilsa Maldonado-Mendez) Scott of Dryden, NY; beloved sister, Emily Scott; and step-brother, Oliver Moshier, both of Beaver Dams, NY; maternal grandparents, Ivor and Elsie Thomas of Elmira, NY; paternal grandfather, Graydon Scott of Lawrenceville, PA; aunts, Debra Scott of Philadelphia, PA; Marjorie (Robert) Macdonald of Fairfax, VA; uncles, Michael (Pam) Thomas of Waterloo, NY, Patrick (Joanie) Thomas of Germany; along with several great-aunts, great-uncles, great-great-aunts, great-great-uncles, cousins, classmates and many close friends.Alex graduated June 6th from the 8th grade at Northside Blodgett Middle School in Corning, NY. He was a member of the football team, wrestling team, boy's ensemble, chorus and technologies group at the Northside Blodgett Middle School. He was a huge fan of NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his father, the late Dale Earnhardt. He was a devoted hunter and fisherman and loved boating and water sports. Alex was very active at the Grace Lee Wesleyan Church in Beaver Dams and the First Assembly of God Church in Ithaca, NY. He was involved with the following ministries at both churches: children's church ministry, drama ministry, music ministry and Bible quiz. His passion was playing his guitar and singing.At the family's request there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Alex's life and honor his memory at the following memorial services: Grace Lee Wesleyan Church, Chambers Rd. & Route 414, Beaver Dams, NY, on Friday, June 13, 2003, at 7 p.m. The Reverend Matt Pickering will officiate. First Assembly of God Church, 197 Bostwick Rd. (off Route 13A), Ithaca, NY, on Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 3 p.m. The Reverend John Sotero will officiate.In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to establish a continuing education fund for Alex's sister, Emily.
