While in college I had the good fortune to work at Mann Library as a part time student worker and later for 38 years as a staff person. Ginny was my wonderfully considerate boss and supervisor at the outset. She was both generous and compassionate and a great influence for me and many others. As I matured into my full time position at Mann it was a happy recognition to realize so many of my best work habits were a result of working with Ginny. My condolences to her family and gratitude to her for such a great example of really positive public service.

It was my privilege to work with Ginny for many years as Senior Night Supervisor at Mann Library. Her understanding and compassion during a most difficult part of her life was remarkable. I greatly appreciate the high standards she set as a supervisor, standards which I later applied with great success as Coordinator of the Mann Library Computing Centers.

I am so sorry to learn that Aunt Ginny died. "Aunt" because I grew up with Sam and Dot and their kids in Connecticut -- and in the '50s all close adults were "Aunt" and "Uncle."
Now I'm in Ithaca and got to spend time with this wonderful, welcoming, generous, loving woman. She was a complete delight and treasure.
I missed her when she left Ithaca and now miss her even more because she has left us all. I'm very sad and send my condolences and all my love.

To My Dear Cousins Peter, Ruth, Bill, Mary, Jessie and your family members; My Deepest Sympathy to all of you in the loss of your Mother, Grandmother and great Grandmother. May you find comfort knowing she has joined her love and your father Bradford in the blissful arms of heaven. May you find comfort in your memories of the love and fun times you shared with her. May you find comfort knowing that Heaven is a beautiful, peaceful, loving and joyful place. She was a kind and fun Aunt. I loved to talk to Aunt Ginny and will cherish the memories of our visits when she would stay with her brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Betty Root on Bethwood Lane in Woodbury, CT. I am thinking of all of you and sending blessings to all of you. Love from All, Becky, Phil, Michael and Kelly
