Hazel McLemore Obituary

LANCASTER, S.C. - Hazel Estelle McLemore, 85, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation.

Hazel was born on Sunday, Oct. 23, 1938, in Lancaster County to the late Boyce and Sarah McGuirt.

She retired from Spring Industries after 30 years, then went on to open up her own thrift store. She was known for her jokes, bright smile and loving heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two sons, Gary Lewis and David McLemore; as well as her brother, Donald McGuirt.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving companion of 43 years, Jim Catoe; daughter, Sheila Clifton; granddaughters, Beth Curry, Diane Smith (Charles) and Jasmine McLemore; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at A Simple Service Burial & Cremation, 201 N. Catawba St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
