Mary Faulkner Maguire

1928 - 2018

TEGA CAY – Mrs. Mary Faulkner Maguire, 90, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018.
She was born Feb. 21, 1928, in Augusta, Maine, a daughter of the late Robert Faulkner and Laura Lewis Faulkner and was the wife of the late Leo Richard Maguire.
Mary graduated from Endicott College. She worked in radio for several years before meeting and marrying the love of her life. She loved to play bridge, tennis and golf and was quite the social butterfly. She kept her northern accent but was a true Southern lady. Family and friends were very important to her, especially her grandchildren. Mary had a very close relationship with her sisters who lived in Maine and she and Leo spent many of their summers there. Mary was an active member of Saint Catherine Catholic Church while she lived here and was involved in many other organizations and events.
Mrs. Maguire was survived by her children, Kathleen "Katy" Heide of Fort Mill and Michael R. Maguire and his wife, Kim, of Gastonia, N.C.; four grandchildren, Kelly Maguire, Kristen M. Peterson, Christopher Heide and Adam Heide; and two great-grandchildren, David and Addison Heide.
Mrs. Maguire was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Jane Merlau, Anne Murphy and Betty Lou Bartlett.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Maguire will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Saint Catherine Catholic Church, by the Revs. Javier Hereida and John Giuliani.
