To:
Jennifer, Shelby, Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Johnson.
The Earp family is personally grieving with you in the loss of 'Bubba'. ‘Bubba' was a mentor and guiding light to many young officers that followed in his footsteps. He was an icon of comfort to me because I knew that if I needed back up (as a city officer and state trooper) in any situation he was always there.
It didn't matter to 'Bubba' how bad the situation was...he was there with a smile on his face until the job was done.
As I take stock of my Trooper days, I can recall accident situations where Bubba's "Stick to it/ Get the job done attitude” was an instrument in my ability to return home safely to my family.
Law Enforcement and this community in general have lost a fine, dedicated and professional officer. Last, but certainly not least, the young people in this community have lost a wonderful advocate. I thank you and your family for sharing him with our community and our Law Enforcement agencies.
May God grant you and your family love, peace and comfort in this very sad time.

I send sincere prayers of comfort up for his family. I have several good memories of Bubba. Several years ago He pulled me over for speeding and I was so glad he did because that was my last chance to chat with him. We were glad to get caught up on family news. I have fond memories of him coming to our house when I was little. He played basketball with Dad and other neighborhood kids in our back yard. He was just a sweet person his entire life. God Bless you all. Rest High on that mountain Bubba!
