In memory of Douglas Quick, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 10th at the "Smokehaus at Sportsman's Lodge", located at 6633 Sportsman's Lane, Ft. Campbell, KY 42223. From Clarksville/New Providence, take 41A N., left on Lafayette Rd. (becomes 11th Airborne Division Rd.), 4.5 miles, left at the light on 101st Airborne Rd. (not straight as Google Maps or GPS might indicate), entrance .2 miles on Rt.
Douglas E. Quick died at his home in Clarksville, Tennessee on November 8, 2016, due to complications from cancer. He was 67 years old.
Doug, son of Max and Alma Quick, was born in Clarksville on June 27, 1949. He graduated from Clarksville High School and attended Austin Peay State University. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served aboard the USS Hancock (CVA-19) and the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) from 1969 to 1970.
Before retirement, Mr. Quick worked as a radiology technician/supervisor at various hospitals in Nashville and Atlanta. He enjoyed the outdoors, skeet shooting, the good company of his many friends and the devotion of all those rescue dogs who were his constant companions.
Doug is survived by his sister, Lucinda Q. Vogelei (Robert Vogelei) of Marietta, Georgia.
His family would like to express special thanks to Doug's loyal friends for their care and attention, especially during the last few years.
