Roger & Kay were the absolute best neighbors anyone could ask for. Roger was always there if you needed anything. A tool, advice, or some Wonderful homemade soup, he was always so pleasant & helpful. He will definitely be missed. Sending prayers and hugs to the Deffendall family.

We were surely sad to hear of Roger's passing. We had hoped he would be well enough for one more trip to Fl as we enjoyed game night with you both.
He was such a nice guy to be around and it's too bad we didn't know him sooner. May God bless and keep you, Kay, and know we will be praying for you.

This past year we got to know Roger and Kay well and remain impressed and inspired by their beautiful spirits. Our dog Luna loves them as well. Come to think of it, everyone we've ever observed in their presence loves AND likes them. We are grateful to be among the many who call them loved ones. What a beautiful legacy.

I am so fortunate to have gotten to know Roger before his passing. I learned a lot from him in the short time I knew him and he will be missed. My life has been greatly enriched by him and the entire Deffendall clan!

Roger was always a great guy to connect with. He was friendly and had stories to tell. I always looked forward to chatting with him before Bible study on Wednesday nights. I pray that as you grieve his loss you are also able to celebrate his life and legacy.

I remember when you & Roger volunteered at the youth center. We'd have parties in your garage. Then we'd invade your house & you'd make us all biscuit donuts!!! Those were the best times & make the best memories! My prayers for y'all.

Kay, we offer our deepest sympathy and prayers for you and your family at Roger’s passing. I enjoyed listening to stories of Alaska and living on an island. We missed you two this year at Laguna Beach, although with no card nights or big outings it was pretty different. We look forward to seeing you again under happier circumstances. We will be thinking of you and praying for you.

Kay and Roger were our "Florida neighbors" at Laguna Beach Christian Retreat in 2020, and attended Bible Study together. Our immediate impression of Roger was that of a kind and friendly soul, easy to like. We are sorry to hear of his passing, and send our love and prayers to Kay and the family. (we missed you in 2020, Kay...your empty apartment reminded us of you often) Praying you will sense the presence of The Comforter daily.
