Rip and family:
We were so very sorry to hear of Barb's passing. We did not know that she was ill. I will never forget all the good times we had, especially watching Matt and Scott play soccer. Barb was such a jolly person, seemed to always be happy. I missed her terribly after you all moved away but never forgot her or the rest of your family.

Rip, CIndy, and Scott,
I am deeply saddened by the news of Barb's passing. Even though I had not seen her in awhile, the fond memories of her treating me like one of her own have always stayed with me. Throughout high school, and for many years after, she was like a second mother to me. She made me feel welcome in your home and always showed an interest in my life's goals by being the compassionate, loving "mom" that she knew how to be.
There are truly no words to describe the sorrow I feel for your loss. I know she is looking down on her family with a multitude of wonderful, happy memories. She raised an amazing family and was a loving wife for 48 wonderful years. For these things she will never be forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

Dear Rip,Cindy & Scott,
Our family is saddened that Barbara has left us. I remember the first time we met the Van Winkle family. I was only 10 years old and thought that Barbara was the sweetest lady. I am now almost 46 years old and remember that day like it was yesterday. There are so many great memories of our families together that it is hard to choose the best one. I know that as a child I recall Barbara being a great cook, I loved her spaghetti!
I know she is watching over all of you and is in the tender loving arms of our blessed Savior.

Dad,
Words can not express my sorrow and concern for you. Your commitment to Mom, as a husband and friend, will remain in my mind as a beautiful example of what love should be.
For Mom
I know in my heart there’s a place we will live,
Once our earthy body gives all it can give.
Releasing a spirit to Heaven above,
That’s casted back to us in a shadow of love.
I see Mom’s bright smile in her grandchildren’s faces;
Her kindness and strength passed along in their traces.
Her subtle influence, they’ll soon realize,
Is why they love viewing life through Nana’s eyes.
I know in this life that our death is no choice;
But distance and time can not silence her voice.
So now when it’s quiet, I listen instead,
And I can hear clearly her song in my head.
