Dad, I just couldn't say this before, but I am so sorry I never moved home when mom died or even when earl died. I know that none of you could ever understand why. I just put myself first, like I always did as a punk growing up. Can you ever for give me.? You suffered silently for years, and you told me that. Earl always said he would tell me when it was time to move home, and he did, a few days after he fell, when Harold was able to get us on the phone together. ..I still didn't come, leaving you alone for that last year. I am so, so sorry, Dad.
It will always haunt me that you wanted to tell Harold and I something that day, but we just couldn't understand you and I had to leave to go back to work in California. What was it Dad....what so upset you that you couldn't tell us? We will never know. Thank you for trusting me to steer the ship when Earl passed. I told you I would never hurt you. earl and mom were always on my shoulder...with a wink and a nod, they guided me thru. It was my greatest honor...to do what earl would have wanted. It would never have been possible had it not been that Earl surrounded himself, and you with the most amazing people I have ever met. Especially Sue and Harold. Your bubba is a pretty smart fella, and so are you! He took over for mom, and with " what would Marijayne do ?"... Watched over you with the same drive, determination, consistency, and love as mom could have ever dreamed. God she loved you. Semper Ffi Captain...and thank you for being my Dad!
All my love. dawn. 760.484.6317

Star. Although it has been many years since we were kids at First Christian Church, I still have many fond memories of your dad. My dad passed away in 1975, but remember that he and your dad were friends. I am sure that they have reconnected in Heaven and are watching over us. Our prayers are with you and your family. May God bless you.

I did not know Clyde, but I do know he raised a great daughter in my friend, Star Pettijohn Lewis. May he rest knowing how much both Star and Dawn loved him. Max, Tina... Are surely getting a nice pat.

I only had the honor of meeting Clyde a little over a year ago. I will always remember his charming smile, humor and the love he had for his family. We send our condolences to his family and friends.

Clyde and Marijane were both larger than life. Although we all met under difficult circumstances, they always had a ready smile and laugh.
Heaven is much more fun now.

Clyde, being as I am a selfish person and wish to keep those I love, admire and strongly care about around me, I find it very hard to et you go. Having said that My sorrow pales in comparison to the joy of your rejoining those who went before you.
God bless you all.

I have fond memories of Clyde climbing on my roof to trim trees and Marijayne sewing curtains by hand in the car. Thanks to them, I was able to attend the 1984 Equestrian Olympic competition and watch the United states win a gold medal. The cool handmade Christmas ornaments I received from them over the years have always and will be treasured. My condolences to the family.

I wanted to express my deepest sympathy to the Pettijohn family. Clyde and Marijayne helped "raise" me at Cloverleaf Farms. They were always there to help me, take me water skiing, be a friend and give me advice. I have very fond memories of those years and of my time spent with them. They are both deerly missed.
