LAKELAND - Clyde P. Warnick went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2015, from pulmonary complications.
He was born March 17, 1931, in Cresaptown, Maryland. Clyde attained the rank of Sergeant, and was retired medically after serving five years in the USAF. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Clyde retired after working for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years, and was named Postmaster in 1973. He was a 50 year member of East Gate Lodge of the Masons of the state of Maryland and was a member of the American Legion, Florida Post 400.
Clyde moved to Lakeland, Florida, in July 1986. He attended First Baptist Church at the Mall for the past 10 years. Playing golf was his passion; accruing over 18 aces. Friends often commented that the 'mold was broken' when he was born.
He was preceded by his parents, two infant sisters and his son Joseph Scott Milos. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth (Whoolery); daughter, Ltc. Amanda L. Jones (Robert); granddaughter, Julia N. Jones; grandson, Christopher Northern; sister, Vera Huggins (Henry) and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. at the Highland Fairways clubhouse with a later burial at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. Donations in his memory may be given to the Billy Graham Association, Highland Fairways Golf Course or a charity of your choice.
