I grew up with Gene as my next door neighbor, in the country, outside of Perrysburg, Ohio. We spent an enormous amount of time together, usually indulging in our favorite hobby which was model airplane building. And of course we had many other experiences together too. That was a very important period in my life and I will always treasure the memories of our times together. If any other members of his family, John, Patsy, Ada, or Larry read this, please write to me. I remember you all very well. My email is

Gene was a really great guy. I remember meeting him my when I was in the 2nd grade and his wife was my teacher. I remember taking a field trip to their house and learning to fly wooden air planes. I also remember him showing the class his collection of RC air planes. I also remember the time where we had another field trip where the boys went out to fly his rc air planes and the girls from Mrs. Woolley's class had a tea party at her house. I also remember going to church with the Woolley family, they would pick me up from my house and take me to sunday service with them. It doesn't seem like it's been this long ago that all of this happened. Mr. Woolley and his wife really made an impact on my life when I was in school.

I am one of Gene's many 1st cousins...27 in all. We grew up together in and around a little Ohio town called Perrysburg. Many fond memories of the "early" years. As life has it, when we grow up we all go our separate ways. But about 3 years ago, I took my mom, Alice Lippincott (Gene's Aunt) over to see him when I visited her in Anna Maria Island, Fl. We had a wonderful afternoon. Gene and his wife fixed us lunch (fish on the grill) and talked about old times. I took the attached picture of the two of them. Neither are with us today, but are with our Father.
May God bless the entire Woolley clan during their time of sorrow.

Big Gene was always an inspiration.
Encouraging me and others to try...not to quit, but try and succeed.
His warm personality and willingness to share his knowledge and love of aviation was what drew people to him.
He always had a smile on his face and a gleam in his eye.
I will miss him...he was truly one of my heros.

I was sad to hear of Gene's passing. He was always so friendly to me and my husband. He would just take the time to visit, laugh and share stories anytime we ran into him. I didn't know him that well, but it was obvious from the way he cherished life and shared it with others that he touched a lot of lives.

Gene was so funny! He loved to come to our hobby shop and would sit for hours talking and joking around. He was supportive of our family owned business, and a great friend. We wil miss his wonderful personality, and know he is among the angels in flight today. Rest in Peace, Gene - We love you! The Noell's of Wildwood

I am very sorry to learn of Gene's passing. This man helped me become a man. I first met him in sixth grade, when he sold me my first u-control model plane, and then taught me to fly it. I later worked for him during high school and college at Taylor Rental. He encouraged me to learn and do everything and anything that I was capable of. That experience has served me, and others, richly throughout my life. Here's to clear skies, Gene!

Big Gene was one of a kind! He taught me how to build and fly RC airplanes with the patience only a father could have. We spent many hours together talking about everything there was to do with aviation and flying and Life in general. He was always happy and a pleasure to spend time with. We're going to miss Gene a lot, but his legacy will be with all of us forever.

Dear Woolley Family, You are in our prayers! Your husband/father/grandfather/ and all the many other roles he held was such a happy and wonderful man. Always a joke or funny word to put a smile on one's face. I will always remember his love for flying...in all capacities. I believe Tom bought his very first RC with his advice and he helped me pick out another for Tom's Christmas gift. Tom so enjoyed his company and friendship...he was like an uncle to him!
I know he will be dearly missed by his friends at Calvary; he was such a willing servant. The toddler room will always remind me of him...peeking in and seeing him lovingly play with the little children!
We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers during this time. Please give our love to the entire family. Fondly, Tom and Susan Davidson
