GERMAINE MOON Obituary
LAKELAND - Germaine "Geri" Marie Citerin Moon, 72, passed away Tuesday June 4, 2013, as a result of respiratory failure.
She was born July 29, 1940 in Morristown, NJ. Mrs. Moon moved back to Lakeland from Colorado in 1995. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Mrs. Moon was very involved in volunteer work wherever she lived. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Hospital North Auxiliary in Westminster, CO. and the Fox Run Garden Club in Virginia Beach, VA. She was an active volunteer with the Lakeland Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, receiving the prestigious 2010 President's Volunteer Service Award signed by President Obama.
Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, Robert Citerin. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, John Moon; sons, William "Bill" Moon and his wife, Feather (daughters Genevieve and Danielle); and Robert "Bob" Moon and his wife, Trudy (daughter Kelly); daughter, Johnna Moon Martinez and her husband, John (son Michael and daughter Kristen); sister, Jeannette Lantier and her husband, Dick; sister in law, Elaine Citerin: and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moon's family will receive friends Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 2-4pm at Lakeland Funeral Home at 2125 South Bartow Highway in Lakeland. A funeral Mass will be conducted Monday, June 10, 2013 at 8:30am at St. Anthony Catholic Church at 820 Marcum Road in Lakeland. Interment will follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Moon's family requests that donations be made, in her memory, to St. Anthony Catholic School, 820 Marcum Road, Lakeland, FL 33809.
