HAROLD CLARK Obituary

HAROLD R. 'BUZZ'
CLARK, 79

LAKELAND - Harold R. 'Buzz' Clark, of Lakeland, FL, passed away on July 5, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice. He was 79 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandra F. Clark, as well as two sons Hal Clark (wife Lisa), Larry Clark (wife Suzanne) and one daughter Kimberly Glover (husband Ron). He also is survived by his sister Edith Engstrom (husband Bill) as well as former spouse and mother of his children Joyce Clark. Buzz has 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Sarah 'Sally' Clark.
Buzz was born on June 8, 1937, in Delaware Township, Greenville, PA. He and his family moved to Lakeland, FL in 1955, and it was in 1958 that Clark Screen N Closures was established. The company, founded by Buzz' father, is still going strong today after 58 years.
Buzz was a 32nd degree Mason and past master of Southland Lodge #256. He also was a member of the Shriner's and a deacon at Southside Baptist Church. He was active in the community, including serving as past head groundskeeper of Dixie Youth Baseball in Christina, as well as serving as a volunteer for the Lakeland Gators Youth Football organization. He was a troop leader of Boy Scouts Troop 106.
Recently, Florida Handling Systems (FHS) donated batting cages to the Lakeland Highlands youth baseball organization and dedicated them in his honor. Buzz enjoyed watching Dreadnaught football and was a big fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and the Florida Gators. He loved hunting and NASCAR, but he especially loved his family.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 11th from 5-6 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, with a memorial service to follow at 6 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the local Shriner's Hospital.

Years ago, Buzz was my cousin (by marriage) and introduced me to John Philip Sousa in typical Buzz fashion! Later, he was my cousin "by heart". Whenever we met, he always flashed his Kodak smile and engulfed me with a warm bear hug that made me love him and still claim him as family.
May God bring sweet comfort to the family and friends of this dear man . . .
