Sister Carnley, I was very sorry to hear of Bro. Carnley's passing. He was a wonderful person and I have fond memories of you all when I was growing up in Dante. The Carnleys and the Rakes were a very large part of my finding Christ at such a young age. I can still remember the trips to Natural Bridge and camping in those old, old cabins and the CA meetings and more. There is a special place in my heart for you and Bro. Carnley that will never leave. God bless you. My Mama went to heaven on August 26th this year. We are all nursing a wounded spirit but I'm sure we will meet them again in heaven.

Dear Sister Carnley and family,
I was sadden to hear of the passing of Pastor Carnley. He was a true servent of God and as our Pastors, of St. Paul Assembly, both of you lived a life of Christ that influenced so many lives including mine. You both loved and cared for the flock. I never hear or sing I'll Fly Away without thinking of Pastor, and now he has made his flight.I pray that God will give you comfort and strength to face the long days ahead but just think what a homecoming we will have one day soon. I love you and will be praying for you and your family.

Sister Carnley, Karen, Jackie, and James,

I am so saddened to hear of Reverend Carnley's passing. I have not called Barbara (Woods) yet because I wanted to make sure the phone call this morning telling me of his passing was correct. I just finished reading the obituary online. My family, especially my Mother and Barbara were so touched by your friendship and Reverend Carnley's teaching. I will tell Barbara on Sunday. She always loved to hear from you and get your cards. On behalf of my entire family, please accept our condolences. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We love you, Brenda (Woods) Kiser

My brother, my friend , I miss you already. You were the first one to tell me about Jesus and the power of prayer. Thank you for that and the love of Christ you always extended to everyone you came in contact with. I'm sure the first words you heard in heaven were "Well done thy good and faithful servant ".
Love to you from your little sister, Dorothy

Sister Carnley,
I am so sorry to hear of Brother Carnley's passing. When you came to St. Paul, I was a very impressionable 14 year old. He encouraged me to attend Southeastern and that decision set the course for the rest of my life. No one but my family had as large an impact on my life as he did. My heart is deeply saddened by your loss. Thank you for all of the hours that the two of you poured into the lives of the people in St. Paul Assembly. We love you and are praying for you and your family during this difficult time.

Dear Aunt Frances,James, Karen, Jackie and all the Aunts and Uncles,

May the Peace of the Lord surround you all during this time. Uncle Jack lived his life according to the will and purpose of God. We are all the richer for Word of God carried from Uncle Jack to us. The mantle has been passed; may the sons and the daughters rise up and be ministers of the Gospel and carry the legacy until we see Jesus face to face, as Uncle Jack is doing right now. :)

My dear sweet Brother has finally made his grand entrance into the joys of heaven. This is what he lived his life for was to be a servant of the Lord and he did a magnificent job! He was my oldest Brother and all we Carnley syblings loved him dearly. He prayed, labored and endured so much for all mankind but especially he prayed for God to send someone our way so we would be saved. Then at last he saw all nine of his brothers and sisters coming into the fold and he was able to lay that burden down. He never wavered once in his many years of ministery to his special people in the Appalachian mountians of Virginia. He loved his church and put it first always. To my Sister-in-law Frances, James, Jackie and Karen go on in peace as you can take comfort that Jack loved deeply and you all were a precious commodity to my Brother in his life time. He shared many memories of his time with all of you to make you so proud to have Jack M. Carnley as your earthly Father. Most of all though he wanted you, his children and Grand children to serve your Heavenly Father until the very end Just as he did. He lived the life before you so pick up his teaching and carry on his legacy.
I loved my big brother very much.

Love, and prayers from Aunt Judy Carnley Warren.

Dear Frances and Family,
Our love and prayers go out to you in your loss with Jack leaving this earth.
We have so many precious memories of a dear brother in Christ. Our friendship goes back 55 years, and each time we were in Jack's presence, we could feel Jesus' love flowing through him. He was a faithful, loving servant of our Lord. He is hearing Jesus say, "Well done you good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of the Lord."
May the Lord comfort you and help you in the days ahead.
