CRAVEN, SR., 66
LAKELAND - Joseph B. Craven, Sr., 66, a lifelong resident of Lakeland, passed away December 23, 2009 of cancer.
Born on December 14, 1943 in Lakeland, Florida, he graduated from Lakeland High School (1961) and University of South Florida (1969).
Joe is survived by his wife, Pam (Parkhurst), two brothers, Jim (Lee) and Jack (Janet), a son, Brack (Kay), and his grandson Ben. Joe was loved by all who knew him and will be missed.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. St. David's Episcopal Church, 145 E Edgewood Drive, Lakeland, Florida
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joe Craven to the Florida Lions Eye Bank, P.O. Box 016880, Miami, FL 33101-6880 (www.fleb.org) or to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, Florida 33612.(www.moffitt.org/donations). Condolences may be sent to the family at www.heathfunerachapel.com.

Pam,
I'll never forget how sweet Joe was to my Joshua when he was a toddler. I am so glad Kay and Brack shared the two of you with us from time to time. All of you are in my prayers and thoughts daily. Much love.

Pam so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We worked together at Florida National Bank I think before you got married. I know Jack,Jim and also Cindy too. We used to play together as kids when I lived in Lakeland. May God give you strength to carry on. My Mom used to play bridge with Joe's Mom Selma when I was a kid. Love to all of you and the family during this time.

I remember many years ago when I started at Florida National and worked with Joe. He was a very kind man and I remember what a cute couple you two were in 1969 at the FNB Christmas party.

Pam, Brack, Kay, Jim, Jack, Ben and the rest of the Craven Family,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to your entire family. We know that you are just crushed by your loss. We do feel that we also have lost one of the BEST people in our lives too. Joe played an important roll in our family. He was like a surrogate dad to Christina, Ty and I. We have so many great memories with Joe on our yearly beach trips, vacations, weddings and more. Memories that we will hold close to our hearts. Our family feels your loss, but we find comfort that he and his buddy Tyler are now together sitting in their beach chairs watching a wonderful sunset together. We love you all.
Pam, please lean on mom, I think you can find comfort together and it can be great therapy for you both.
