Miguel's son's baseball team is traveling to the State competition on July 14, 2011, Ocala, FL. To honor Miguel, the boys have sewn Miguel's no. 14 (the number he wore through high school and college) and his initials on their uniforms.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers and other gifts that donations be made to the: Dundee Ridge Youth Baseball/Made payable to: Coach Lou Morales, P.O. Box 712, Lake Wales, FL.

I remember the weekend trips backs to Miami Beach and Miguels home when there was no baseball. Meeting his parents and brother, visiting the places he would go and introducing me to some of his high school friends made me feel very welcomed. He was truly a friend to me.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I met Miguel at PBJC on the baseball field. I couldn't shake his hand because both were broken from punching out the dugout in his last highschool game. We became roommates our second year at PBJC. even though we didnt see each other very much over the next 40 years, he has been one of my best and closest freinds. I saw him 2 years ago on a buisness trip, met his son Michael and spent some time with his mother. I will miss him dearly.

We so wish we could have seen him in the last years... life is too short... he was taken too young and will be missed my many. Sincerest sympathy..

I am still in shock over Miguel's passing! I was just at the house a few days before he went back in the hospital and he was cracking jokes. I will never forget how much he helped me get back on my feet after a layoff. Miguel was hilarious and had a heart of gold. I will miss you Miguel!

Miguel was an amazing man. It was an absolute honour to know him and be a part of his life. He will be truly missed by us both. Miguel was one in a million and sad we didn't get to say goodbye. He has touched so many hearts. We used to come to Florida to go to Disney and see Miguel but over the years it turned into coming to see Miguel and then going to Disney. Florida will never be the same for us. God bless Miguel you are an angel and love you dearly. We send all our love and thoughts from the UK to all the family and friends

What can I say? Miguel Diaz was a legend. He was funny. He loved to bust chops....but deep down the man had a heart of gold. I guess I still don't want to believe it. Clocks are made by men. What we choose to do with the time given us ....is truly up to us. Miguel did...and gave.....MUCH to MANY. I will never forget him. Vegas Vince Lake Wales, FL
