Monroe Boatwright Obituary

Joyner LumberLAKELAND -- Mr. L. Monroe Boatwright of Lakeland died of heart failure Tuesday (April 15, 2003) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. He was 74.Born in Lakeland on Dec. 20, 1928, he was a lifelong resident. He was a retired salesman and vice president of operations at Joyner Lumber Co. He also worked at Oxford Lumber and McGinnes Lumber. He was a member of Griffin Road Baptist Church.Mr. Boatwright is survived by his wife, Willa Mae Boatwright; sons, Gary Boatwright, Greg Boatwright, both of Lakeland; daughter, Debra McGuirt, Lakeland; sister, Mary Johnson, Lakeland; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lanier Funeral Home, 717 W. Griffin Road, Lakeland. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel.
