The first time I ever ran into him, he and I were both stocking up "adult beverages" for parties we were hosting. We connected because we were both in great moods, it was campaign season, and it was so clear he was very fond of this guy I liked named McKeel. ("You know him?" I asked, "or does he own your vehicle?")

As time went by I made a point to keep an eye out for him at any event: he preferred a spot with a view to a spot in the middle of the room, and I treasured watching him make eye contact with each of his kids. A father's love is sacred, and he loved y'all dearly!!!!
