STEPHEN ROBINSON Obituary
LAKELAND - Stephen Todd Robinson, M.D., 54, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Tampa General Hospital after suffering a heart attack the previous Saturday from which he was unable to recover. Dr. Todd was born November 22, 1963, in Rome, Georgia, the only son of Dr. H.G. and Bonnie Robinson, who preceded him in death. Dr. Todd graduated from Florida Southern College in 1987 and the University of Kentucky School of Medicine in 1991. In 1994, after completing his residency, he served as a medical missionary doctor in Bangladesh and then joined his father, Dr. H.G. in family practice at the Robinson Family Clinic in Lakeland. Dr. Todd met his wife, Tamara R. Meadows, while in his residency in Lexington, Kentucky, and had been married for 23 years.
Dr. Todd is survived by his loving wife, Tami, and five children Chase, Brooke, Cole, Paige, and Rose; two sisters, Cathy Sokolski (Tom), and Bitsy Dawn Scaniffe; mother-in-law and father-in-law Diane and Mike Meadows; one sister-in-law, Lori Eckdahl (Bill); two brothers-in-law, Jami (Kathy) and Michael; five aunts, Dimple 'Dee' Tosh, Judy Ray, Betty Steele, Betty Jo Friskney (Doyle), Debbie Wilkinson (Russ); two uncles, Ron Meadows (Carolyn) and Ray Meadows (Debbie); nieces and nephews, Brittany Sellers, Brenna Meadows, Stephanie Sokolski Cunningham (Craig), Courtney Eckdahl, Sammi Sokolski, Shelli Sokolski, Staci Sokolski Bates (Trevor), Cathy Scaniffe, Jessica Sokolski, Caleb Scaniffe, Emily Meadows, Shelby Meadows, MacKenzie Meadows, John Meadows, and many cousins and great nieces and nephews.
Dr. Todd loved being a physician, and he did not view what he did as a job, but as a calling. He loved researching and reading to find answers that would benefit all of his patients, but especially for those with health problems for which conventional medicine offered no further options.
Dr. Todd enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, sporting clay shooting, Saturday breakfasts at Fat Jacks, Thursday lunches at Beef O'Brady's and spending time with his family and friends.
The viewing will be held at Christ Community Presbyterian Church, Lakeland, Florida, on Friday, July 20, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Christ Community Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Christ Community Presbyterian Church by noting on the memo line 'Dr. Todd.' All donations will then go directly to the family.

I received a reminder this morning from legacy.com and I wanted to add some thoughts that went through my mind when I saw that reminder. I always hate it when I find out that someone that I knew passes on . Thoughts always go through my mind with other people on whether or not they had died after receiving the free gift of salvation of Jesus Christ. As I get older, I think about these things. But when I saw Todd`s name pop up on my email I know that he was saved, and I am so thankful to have known him and I wish I had been able to get to know him better. He was the very best doctor that I had ever known and one of the very best people that I had ever known I will say a prayer for you, family . I know you don´t know me, but Dr Todd certainly touched my families life.

We still remember him and his Father. I have wonderful memories at the Robinson Clinic. I can honestly say that it was enjoyable to visit my Doctors - Stephen and his Father. It was good to walk into the office surrounded with great nurses, being cared for and enjoying a smile and a story of encouragement.

We are so sad to have heard of Dr Todd's passing. He literally saved my life many years ago and continued to help me have quality of life. He always said I can't make you live longer but I can help you have a more healthy life! And he did! We will miss him so much! Thank you Dr Todd!

Most of our family saw either Todd or HG for the last 10 years. We are devastated at this second loss in a little over a year, so we know that it is MUCH harder for the family and office staff. We will keep all of you in our prayers for the rest of the year, and we will also pray for another health doctor to step-in and keep the clinic open!

The last time I saw Dr. Todd was the at the viewing of his dad. I had just lost my dad a year prior. I know they were so close like I was with my dad. I have always had great respect both Dr. Robinson's in the time I knew them and thought how nice it was that they could work together, father and son. They have helped so many people. Dr Todd was my late wife's doctor. She had such a huge respect for him and so did I. I remember him giving me a hug and shedding tears when he talked about her after her death. I remember when we first learned of Robinson Family Clinic and we were so happy that we had found 2 real doctors in Lakeland Florida that had a common sense and practical approach using proven time tested therapies and medicine. He would take time to explain things and he cared for his patients. I can remember more than once meeting him at his office on a weekend. Dr Todd was one of the best of people I have met in Lakeland and I wish I had told him that. I told so many people about him because they were really helping people in the clinic. I am truly blessed to have known him. He seemed more like a friend than my doctor. To the family: you already know what a great man Todd Robinson was to you. We prayed for you tonight when we just learned at our Bible study and will continue to pray for you. We were so blessed to know him. I am really going to miss him. Your loss is our loss too. My heart goes out to each and every one of you.

Dear Robinson Family, Dan and I are so blessed to have known Dr. Todd. My husband was new to the Clinic, but enjoyed every visit, check up, and his conversations with him. We are saddened with you over the loss of this wonderful, dedicated husband, father, and doctor. He and his father were Father Figures to all of my family for decades. I appreciate the years under his care, and all the joyful conversations with him about health, faith, and his family. Dr. Todd and his dad treated me for years. I cannot adequately express my sadness for his family, staff, and friends. Dr. Todd recently counseled me emotionally when I told him about my stress in dealing with a family member with dementia. He took time with me, which you can't seem to get from any other kind of doctor these days. He truly cared. I am in shock. I am so very sorry. He is greatly missed. Dr. Todd was much more than a doctor. He was a true Christian that lived out his faith tending others needs. He was always personal during your appointment truly listening with compassion. He met with us after hours when we suffered grief over the death of our son. He removed a fishhook from the hand of our out of town company on Sunday. He solved a medical problem for us that was not a conventional ailment. He was a soldier of the Cross in a tough field of medicine because he stood against the status quo in order to give his patients the love, dignity, and care they needed. We are grateful for his "job well done" and the joy that he is experiencing before our Lord. His wife and family can be proud to have such a legacy found in a man that honored the Lord in all he did . He will be truly missed.

We recently became patients/friends with Dr Todd. We came to love him and his caring commitment to our family's health.
My family is praying for his family. We never got to meet them in our short time with Dr Todd but felt like we knew them from our conversations. A man who cared for others and used God's gift to him for others. My son said heaven has a new angel. Amen to that.

Dr. Todd always went above and beyond. He was easy to talk with and we had many lively and interesting conversations about microcurrent and other subjects. Dr. Todd was a 'real' doctor. He didn't rush you though like all the others do today. He listened and had real and often very simple answers and solutions and got to the root of the problem. To his family and children, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that you find a way through your faith to find peace again. These words fall so short of remembering such a wonderful and giving man.
