LAKELAND - Mr. Thomas R. Slusarz, 87, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at LRMC due to natural causes.
Mr. Slusarz was a member of the St. Anthony Parish in Lakeland. He was also very proud of being a Friend of Bill W. for 61 years. Thomas was enlisted in the Army during WWII; he received a Purple Heart at the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Slusarz was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Slusarz and John Slusarz. Survivors include his wife, Lois M. Slusarz; sons, Thomas and Brian Slusarz; daughter, Donna Slusarz; step-sons, Brian, Bruce and Barry Nopper; step-daughters, Susan Nopper and Sharon Buttorff; brother, Mike Mihalczo; sisters, Rose and Dolores Mihalczo; and numerous grandchildren.
The visitation will be Monday from 6-8 PM at the Gentry-Morrison Northside Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 8:30 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church.
