Carlos Villarreal Obituary
After receiving his dental degree in Monterrey, Mexico, Dr. Villarreal received his oral surgery training in Puerto Rico and Houston, Texas. He moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1997 and started Reconstructive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Edinburg.
Dr. Villarreal is survived by his wife, Lizbeth Riquelme Villarreal, his five children, Brianna, Jose Ramon, Tania, Mauricio and Mario. He is also survived by his mother, Francisca Villarreal Sosa and three sisters, Norma, Elsa, and Alma Villarreal, his nieces Dorothy and Astrid, and four nephews, Artemio, Apolonio, Miguel and Polo.
Dr. Villarreal will reunite with his father, Don Apolonio Villarreal and his brother Apolonio Villarreal as he goes with the Lord.
Dr. Villarreal will be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He will be remembered by his colleagues as a distinguished oral surgeon who was always made himself available to them and the patients he cared for.
Viewing will be held at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen, TX on Wednesday, April 6,2022 from 4-7 pm, with a rosary to follow at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 1:30 pm.

I will miss Dr Villarreal so much. He was literally the first person who showed kindness to me after I moved to Edinburg. He guided me through so much trauma and gave me hope that I would eventually be OK after a lifetime of disappointment with dental work. Everything would be OK. I will miss his encouraging smile and the feeling of hope he gave me. Such an impact on my view of life. I was going to get back to him this spring for surgery that needed to be redone. I will always regret that I didn´t do that. I am so sorry for his loss. I don´t think anyone has ever had such an impact on my outlook. I know I am just another patient but he will always have a place in my heart. He changed my outlook on life.

Needed wisdom teeth removed some years ago.... Dr. Villarreal made me feel at ease and assured me that he would take care of me... what a great experience... fantastic bedside manner and as he said, all went well. To this day I tell friends and family about my interaction with Dr. Villarreal. Gone way to soon. May he rest in peace. Condolences. John Vera.
