Celia Gonzalez Obituary
Celia worked for the Edinburg School District for 30 years. She retired as the cafeteria manager at Edinburg North High School in 2017. She enjoyed her retirement doing what she loved, spending time with her grandchildren. She always enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in everything they did and attending all events if possible. Everyone appreciated and enjoyed her great sense of humor and amazing cooking. Celia will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband, Ramon Gonzalez; three children, Ernesto (Angelita) Gonzalez, Ramon (Julissa) Gonzalez and Alexis Gonzalez; grandchildren, Clara Gonzalez, Rhaylla Gonzalez, Rhylissa Gonzalez, Angelina Normendez and Jolene Normendez; five siblings, Luis (Amparo) Lopez, Peter (Elva) Lopez, Maria Elena (Rodolfo) Castillo, Norma L. Donava and Rosa Alma (Richard) Santoscoy; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.

My sister I miss your voice and laughter. My fondest memories are the ones growing-up. I still remember playing under mom sewing machine with clothes pins and thread spools, poor people legos, "lol". We made believe all kinds of things when we were kids. I still remember going to Pecos, Tx every summer to pick melons. We never thought of it as work, but almost as summer camp, lol. But also know that you grew to be a wonderful mother and grandmother to your children. You and Ramon made a wonderful couple. You were very generous always thinking of others. You were wonderful sister to all of us. I will always miss your voice, laughter and beautiful smile. Love you my beautiful little sister.
