Floyd Phipps Obituary

FLOYD C. PHIPPS
PHARR - Floyd C. Phipps, 86, died at McAllen Medical Center on Friday, October 26, 2007. He was born in Sellersburg, Indiana to Floyd & Marguerite Keller Phipps.Floyd graduated from St. Xavier High School in Louisville, Kentucky in 1939. He was an avid fisherman, he loved baseball and was a model train collector. He served in the US Marines during World War II as a Gunnery Sergeant. After the war he was a Collections Officer with the Internal Revenue Service for 36 years, retiring in 1976.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife, Evaline Phipps of Pharr and his niece, Pat Ratcliff of O'Fallon, Illinois.
He was cremated at Val Verde Memorial Gardens Crematory in Donna, Texas. His cremated remains will be inurned in Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky at a later date. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, October 29, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Tip o Tex Mobile Park on East Sioux Road in Pharr. Kreidler Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
