Harold L. Sharp

1937 - 2023

McAllen - Harold L. Sharp passed peacefully on September 30, 2023, at the age of 85. Known to his family and friends as Sonny, in his earlier days as "Dallas Red" and to his grandchildren as Grandpa or Big Papaw, he had a quiet demeanor which was surprising when you heard his booming laughter. He had a willingness to eat any food at least once, loved music, loved to dance and he will be sorely missed.

Born in Dallas, Texas on October 1, 1937, Harold grew to love all things outdoors which included hunting, fishing, rodeo, and golf, all of which he would admit needed much more practice. He spent 3 years in the Air Force (1956 - 1959) where he was stationed in Morocco, North Africa. This piqued his interest in travel which he continued to do throughout his adult life. His favorite things were attending any sporting event to watch his kids and grandchildren compete and the annual Sharp Reunion where he loved being surrounded by his family and friends.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Vicki Sharp, son Dal Sharp (wife Lisa) and family, son Dan Sharp (wife Cindy) and family, son Cody Sharp (wife Rose) and family, daughter Shannon White (husband Scott) and family, son Wayne Langbein, son Russell Langbein (wife Donna) and family, daughter Brandi Estes (husband Aaron) and family, daughter JJ Sharp (husband Brian Moers) and family. Grandchildren Lauren White- Buerba (husband Max) and family, Alex Sharp, Megan Pettinato (husband Daniel), Taylor Sharp, Andie Sharp, Garrett Sharp, Madison Schmidt (husband Colby), Mason Sharp, Jordan Langbein, Hunter Langbein, Sebastian Segovia, Gabriella Sharp, Paul Estes, Abigail Estes. Great grandchildren Santiago Buerba, Austin Pettinato and Grayson Sharp.

Harold is preceded in death by his mother Deloma Kemp, father Hal Mack Sharp and his sister Linda Mauldin

Military Funeral Honors Service will be Friday, October 13, 2023, at 11:00 am at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, Texas 78572
