Dale Irvin Sharp

Dale Irvin Sharp, born on March 3, 1951, in Tallahassee, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2026, at OSU East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Sharp. He is survived by his mother, Betty Abbott; his devoted wife, Sylvia Jeannette Truitt-Sharp; and his children Rodney Williams (Anne), DJ Sharp (Taniea), KB Sharp (Yann), and Kory Sharp. Dale is also survived by his siblings Darryl Sharp, Damien Sharp (Elizabeth), Deborah Sharp, Dawn Sharp-Heard, Vicki Abbott, Dorcas Sharp, and Derek Sharp (Allyson).
He leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 17 nieces and nephews, and more than 40 grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews, each of whom he cherished deeply.
Dale attended South High School and East High School before entering the U.S. military. Upon returning home, he met the love of his life, Jeannette (Net), and the two were married in 1975.
A dedicated and hardworking provider, Dale excelled in his career with Kal Kan, DHL, and Roadway. He was an avid sports fan-especially of Notre Dame football-and an exceptionally talented athlete, known for his remarkable skill on the basketball court.
Dale touched countless lives. He was preceded in death by his close cousin Marlon Mosley and is survived by Cousin Jimmy Moore, along with special friends Charles Guilton, Terri Mottinger, Shaun Freet (Christie), Kelly Merideth, Karen Ernst and Steve Ernst, Keith Hill, David Ornstein, Will Boden, Jeff Parker and many more who were blessed by his friendship.
