JOSE OLVERA Obituary
McALLEN - Jose I. Olvera, 59, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, October 16, 2010. He was born to Virginia Puga and Virgilio Olvera. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Raquel Olvera; nephew, Moises N. Hinojosa; father, Bernardo Puga; father-in-law, Pedro R. Garcia and mother-in-law, Virginia V. Garcia. He worked at Teddy Bertuca for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Blanca E. Olvera; his son, Adan (Beatrice) Garcia, III of Corpus Christi; daughters, Maria (Lamarr) Hunter of McAllen and Sylvia (Ricardo Ocañas) Olvera of McAllen; grandchildren, Jose O. Guerra, Eduardo Aguilera, Cristian Cavazos and Lamarr D. Hunter, Jr.; sisters, Elvia Viera, San Juanita Olvera, Maria I Azua and Araceli Saldivar; brother, Bernardo Puga, Jr.
We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. A. Restrepo and staff - Texas Oncology; Dr. N. Kalaf and Jessica Saenz, PA-C; Dr. H. Ruiz; Dr. J. Gomez, Dr. R. Martinez; Dr. A. Peña; Dr. R. A memorial service will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Rivera Funeral Home Chapel of Peace, 1901 Pecan, McAllen.
The Olvera family has entrusted the care of the funeral director's and staff of Rivera Funeral Homes, 1901 Pecan (956)686-2224, McAllen.
