JUAN AGUILAR SR.
McALLEN - Our beloved father, Juan Aguilar, Sr., died peacefully in his sleep on November 28, 2011. He was born June 6, 1923 to Epifanio Aguilar and Eufemia Martinez in Cadereyta, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Epifanio Aguilar and sister, Aurelia Gonzalez.
Left to cherish his memory is our mother, his loving wife and life-long companion of sixty-five years, Otila O. de Aguilar; sons, Juan Aguilar, Jr. (Yolanda), Ernesto Aguilar (Cynthia), Carlos Aguilar (Rosalva); daughters, Iris Aguilar Dominguez (Ernesto), Maria Rosenfield (Dr. David Rosenfield); grandchildren, Sandra Guerra, Cesar Aguilar, Juan Javier Aguilar, Jennifer Flores, Sergio Aguilar, Claudia Aguilar, Paloma Alexandra Dominguez, Dylan Rosenfield, Lillian Iris Rosenfield; sister, Amalia Chapa; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Our dad loved life and lived it to the fullest dedicating his time, love, affection and devotion to our mother and to us. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father and a good friend to many whose lives he touched throughout his lifetime. Dad loved reading, music, politics and his work. He will be in our hearts forever.
Although we will miss him every day, we celebrate his life and rejoice in God's promise that we will see him again someday.
The family thanks the physicians and their wonderful staff for their hard work, dedication and compassion while treating dad namely, Drs. Daniel Guerra, Rodrigo Lerma, Juan Pablo Gomez, Gerardo Garza, Elvin Garcia, Manuel Seas, and Guillermo Lazo as well as the staff at McAllen Medical Center, Rio Grande Regional Hospital, Solara Hospital, Legend Healthcare and Arbor View Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. We also thank family and friends for all of their prayers and support throughout this difficult time.
We will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 with a rosary being recited at 7:00 pm at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 2209 Kendlewood Ave., McAllen. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rivera Funeral Home of McAllen.
