LEMUEL "LEMMY" LOPEZ

EDINBURG - Lemuel "Lemmy" Lopez, born July 15, 1965, passed away unexpectedly at age 45 on October 13, 2010 in a tragic hang gliding accident.
A native of Edinburg, Texas, Lemmy leaves to mourn him his mother; Mrs. Elodia G. Lopez, sons; Nicolas Lopez, Christopher Diego Lopez, daughter; Rebecca Lopez, mother of his children; Patricia G. Lopez, brothers; Eliasib "Eli" (Melly) Lopez, Dr. Noel (Kathy) Lopez, sister; Nilda (Jack) Alston, girlfriend; Alice Garces and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father; Leonel Lopez.
Lemmy attended Edinburg public schools, was a graduate of the University of Texas Pan American and St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the Hidalgo County Bar Association and National Rifle Association. A practicing attorney for over 15 years, Lemmy was also an avid archer, hunter, fisherman, and a great cook, but most importantly, Lemmy was a devoted father who loved his children dearly. Lemmy was blessed to have true close friends (Luis, Javi, Mario, Balde, to name a few) who were loyal and caring during trying times in life. A private person, Lemmy had an infectious sense of humor and was compassionate and giving to his clients, family and friends alike. He loved and lived life to the fullest. A sign of a rich man is not how much money he has but how many people cry over his passing. Most certainly Lemmy leaves behind many family and friends who cry over his sudden tragic death, and as such a very rich man.
The Lopez family will receive friends today, October 16, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 E. Kuhn, Edinburg, Texas. Christian services will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home. Christian burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Having the honor of serving as pallbearers are Eli Lopez, Jack Alston, Nicolas Lopez, Diego Lopez, Daniel Morin and Christopher Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Noel Lopez, Dr. Mario Echavarria Raymond Lee, Javier Fazio, Javier Quintanilla, Bobby Garcia, Ross Beltran, Jr. and Eddie Trevino. Descanse en paz fiel hijo, padre, hermano, y amigo. Nicolas- keep making beautiful music on the piano, Diego- keep knocking them out on the football field, and Becky- have the beautiful 15 you deserve. I will be watching over you always. Love-Dad.
