Martha Pullen Obituary

Martha Allen Pullen, 100, passed away on January 23, 2025 at her home in John Knox Village.

Martha was born in Canton, Ohio, on July 14, 1924, to Andrew Campbell Allen and Frances Michel Allen. She moved to Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 2 and lived there until her marriage to Judson Lee Pullen on December 23, 1945.

Martha first attended Ohio Wesleyan University & Ohio State University. She went on to graduate with a BA in Elementary Education and also earned her Masters degree from Pan American University. She taught elementary school in the Weslaco ISD for 19 years, and was a principal in the Weslaco ISD for 19 years.

Her husband, Judson, preceded her in death on December 20, 1983. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Jens Christian Mortensen, on October 28, 1993.

She is survived by her children; daughter Cynthia Lee Rose (Larry), and son Michael Allen Pullen (Judy); grandchildren, Tyson, Christopher & Jonathan Anderson (Yuko); Brian Pullen & Lauri Wellmon (Jeremy); and by her five great grandchildren; Conner, Brennan & Trevor Wellmon, and Shota & Lina Anderson.

Martha donated her body to The University of Texas Health and Science Center at San Antonio, TX to be used for the advancement of medical science. She made these arrangements back in July of 1979... on her birthday, no less!

May Martha's memory remain an everlasting blessing to her family.

I extend to you my heartfelt condolences. Your mother was my fifth grade homeroom teacher. She and I would see each other in the grocery store and always had good chats. She was a wonderful teacher and a treasured friend. May God bless you with comfort at this time.
