MAXIMO DIAZ Obituary

MAXIMO DIAZ JR.
PALMVIEW - Maximo Diaz Jr., 84, passed away February 11, 2010 at Mission Regional Medical Center.
He is survived by his spouse Estela M. Diaz of Palmview; children David Richard Diaz of Palmview, Norma Diaz Silva of Weslaco, Maximo (Rosie) Diaz III of Palmview; grandchildren Zach Anthony Silva, Margo Denise Silva, Sabrina Diaz, Laura Diaz, Samantha Diaz; and great-grandchild Zoe Silva. He is also survived by his sister Bertha Gonzalez of McAllen and brother Oscar Diaz of Dallas.
He is preceded in death by his parents Maximo Sr. and Benita Diaz; sisters Azucena Collins, Olivia Villegas, Elida Cavazos; brothers Antonio Diaz and Raul Diaz.
Maximo was an agriculture school teacher at La Joya High School for 36 years. He was a WWII veteran in Pacific Theatre, an avid hunter, outdoorsmen and rancher.
Visitation was held Friday, February 12, 2010 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary service held at 7:00 pm at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held today, February 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ric Brown Family Funeral Home of Mission.

Dear Diaz Family: Max Diaz loved his teaching "Ag" and working with those FFA students. He was a great help to a first year teacher, and always had a funny story to keep the morale up amongst his peers. He will be greatly missed. May God Bless you all.
