NIEVEA HERNANDEZ Obituary
WESLACO - Nievea Hernandez,74, loving mother, grandmother and sister, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2011. She was born September 5, 1936 to Federico and Soledad Hernandez. Ms. Hernandez, known as
"Ms. H", was a caring nurse and retired from Knapp Medical Center in 2005 after 35 years of faithful services. She was preceded in death by her brother, Pantaleon Hernandez; a nephew, J.J. Hernandez; and her sisters, Cristela Mendoza and Paula Gonzalez. Nievea is survived by her son, Rey Martin (Monica) Renaud of San Antonio; brothers, Benito Hernandez and Guadalupe (Mary) Hernandez of Weslaco; sisters, Maria Hernandez, Esmeralda Hernandez, Navia Hernandez, all of Weslaco and Lupita (Daniel) Ramirez of Bay City, TX. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Nathanael, Lauren, Hillary and Ethan Renaud; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2011 from 5pm to 9pm with a rosary at 7pm at McCaleb Funeral Home Chapel in Weslaco. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Serving as pallbearers will be her loving family members.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dionisio Calvo MD, Dr. Adolfo Kaplan MD, Dr. Rodolfo Guerrero MD, Dr. Habib Ghaddar MD and the Knapp Medical Center ICU 5th floor staff for their loving care.
Arrangements are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.

My prayers go out to the Hernandez family and her son. I remember when Nievea came to see her brother (my Papa Bene) she was so nice and kind. Nievea talked of nursing with kindness and passion , I became a nurse. May the Lord bless you and keep you all
