Raul Posada Obituary
Raul Posada entered into eternal rest on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Raul was born on June 24, 1956 in McAllen. He graduated from McAllen High School in 1975.
After his 20-year tenure at Federal Express, Raul was excited about starting his new career as a Realtor with Celebrity Realtors. He will be best remembered for his extraordinary sense of humor and quick wit.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, the "Native Son", a tribute to his American-Indian heritage. However his "Munequita," daughter Alexandria, and his "Handsome," son Daniel Andres, were the true light of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Manuela Posada, his sister, Janie Consuelo Rubio and his brother, Juan Manuel Posada.
Raul is survived by his daughter, Alexandria and his son, Daniel Andres, his sisters Maria Estella Posada, Olga Posada, Ester (Tracy) Widle, Corina Posada all of McAllen, and Rachell Bell of Austin; brothers Simon Posada, Jr., Henry (Roxanne) Posada of California and Joe (Carmen) Posada of Michigan along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Rivera Funeral Home in McAllen. The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. There will be a mass celebrating Raul's life on Wednesday, July, 11 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens.
Funeral services are under the direction of Rivera Funeral Home.

I first met Raul in our real estate classes. He had a great sense of humor, quick wit, but most of all great love for his children. He was an honorable and fair man. He will be dearly missed.

I first met Raul when he was in my mom's elementary classroom! I later met up with him at Travis Jr. High and then McHi. He was a great friend. He had this infectious smile and wonderful personality! I was soooo happy to see him at the 30th High School reunion! My condolences to his family.

To the Posada Family: Raul was my best friend. I too met him first thru Fedex, then thru his real estate business, and then we began riding together. It seemed our paths crossed over and over, so it is no surprise that we became close friends. As is said, some friends come into your life and stay forever, some only for a moment, but all for a reason. Raul came into my life at a time of major change, and it was he that helped me thru the harder times. I will miss him dearly; his daily calls, his Well Nancy..answers, and his un-varnished opinions and advice. Until we see you again my friend - God Bless You.

I met Raul in our real estate classes. He was very nice to everybody. We always kept in contact. It made me very sad to hear about his accident. I feel for his kids, they were the love of his life. I will miss him very much.

When I was a Sr. Manager for Fedex in Harlingen, my area of responsibility was the Valley and Laredo. I had the privelage and honor of knowing Raul and his family for many many years. As an employee, he always had something to point out, but he was prepared to provide input or suggestions to remedy an issue. I last ran into Raul about 3 years ago at the Edinburg Courhouse, where he was delivering. As always, his first question was, "How's the Family", and "how are you sir". We will truely miss you Raul, rest in peace my friend.

I met Raul for the first time at McHi, he always had a smile on his face for everyone. I ran into Raul again last year, he recognized me immediately. He spoke highly of his children and his love for them. He was also very excited about his new career. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

I met Raul when I first moved to McAllen and got a job at New Dimension--1977. He was the manager, and his friendliness and infectious smile always brought out the best in our customers and in us employees. I left after 6 months, but 14 years later, Raul showed up on my doorstep as my FedEx man. Again, his cheerfulness and love of life brightened mine. I am deeply saddened by his sudden passing.
Raul will be in my prayers. God bless you, Raul, and vaya con Dios.

I only knew Raul as our Fedex delivery man, but he was a really nice individual. I got to know him before he left Fedex and was really sorry to see him go. He talked mostly about his children and how much he loved them. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

Raul was our neighbor until recently. He was always polite, positive, and happy even when times were hard. He had a great love of life, his children and family. He moved recently and he has been missed but I thought I would be seeing him again. My prayers are with his family.

He never forgot a name, never forgot a face, he was genuinely one of a kind. From the halls of McHi, to seeing him on deliveries for Fed Ex, and then later enjoying his cannie way of receiving the award for Least Changed at our 30th Class Reunion. I was fortunate to cross paths with Raul a few times after our 30th reunion. He was such an impressive man, with a very positive outlook in life. He would always tell me that God listened to his prayers and that he had a very close relationship with God. I believe that to be true--I believe Raul is smiling down on us, perhaps smirking that he has stirred the pot just a little. My prayers and warmest thoughts go out to the Posada family during this time of mourning.

I did not run in the same "crowd" as Raul did in high school but I did have him for a class here and there. I saw him for the first time since graduation at our 30th class reunion. As always, he made you feel like you were someone very special and was very glad to see you again after all those years. I know his close friends and family will have wonderful memories to look back on and help them through this sad time in their lives.

The greatest memories for a child are those of his parents love and devotion. I had the pleasure of knowing Raul & Edna when the children were babies. The love and doting nature of Raul for his children is something his children will alway carry with them in fond memory.

Raul always had a smile for you anytime you met him. He suprised me at my home in Edinburg a few years ago with a delivery. We hadn't seen each other since '75. He recognized me before I did him. We spoke of the old days at McHi. I sure will miss him, as I know all his classmates will too, a good loyal friend.
