He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Enedelia Garza and a granddaughter: Evelyn Monjaras.
He is survived by his wife: Rebecca R. Gonzalez; his children: Anissa G. Monjaras, Janette Gonzalez, Sara Gonzalez, Rene Gonzalez, Jr., Brandon Gonzalez and Veronica Gonzalez; his siblings: Carlos Salinas, Ana Maria Weaver, Rafael Gonzalez, Rosalva G. Holmes, Guillermo Gonzalez, Jr. and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd. in McAllen from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph the Worker Church. Burial will follow to La Piedad Cemetery.

My sincere condolences to the family of Cousin Rene. Rene's mom Leonor Ochoa-Gonzalez was my dads (Benito Hernandez) cousin on the Ochoa side of the family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
