Reymundo R. Sanchez

1931 - 2017

Elsa - Reymundo Rodriguez Sanchez, age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Weslaco, TX. He was born on March 15, 1931, in La Pryor, TX to Estanislado and Socorro Sanchez. He spent his childhood in South, Texas. In 1950, he married Maria De La Caridad Trevino. They settled in Elsa, Texas where they raised five children. Mr. Sanchez worked for the Texas Highway Department for over 35 years before retiring to his farm on the outskirts of Elsa, TX. He was a lifetime member of Woodmen of the World and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Being an avid fisherman, traveling to South Padre Island was a hobby he enjoyed the most. Reymundo was a man remembered by friends and family as a person who you could count on to be there with solid support in your time of need. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Maria Trevino Sanchez, children Jesus (Jesse) T. Sanchez and wife Fran, Diana S. Ochoa and husband (Junior), Magali S. Villalpando and husband, David and Roy Sanchez and wife Natalie and Sister Carmen S. Perez. Additional survivors are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his son Noe Sanchez in 2008.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday August 23, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both days.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, TX.

Pallbearers will be Ruben D. Sanchez, Matthew W. Sanchez, Tommy Ochoa, David Villalpando Jr., Roy Sanchez Jr., Roberto Trevino and Jimmy Esquivel.

Interment will follow to Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, TX.
