Spring Branch - January 5, 1960 - April 12, 2025. Ronald "Ronny" Tyler Smith, Jr., loving partner, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Spring Branch, Texas. Born on January 5, 1960, in College Station, Texas to the late Ronald and Jonita Smith, he later moved with his family to McAllen, Texas. He graduated from McAllen High School as a member of the Class of 1978. Following high school, he attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy.

Ronny was a proud member of the Century Club of Texas A&M University, National Association of REALTORS and Texas Association of REALTORS and spent several years serving on the River Crossing Property Owners Association in Spring Branch, TX.

Ronny had many life-long friends that he stayed in contact with, and his greatest joy was spending time with them and his family. He loved the outdoors and had an affection for the Big Bend area and the beauty of its natural region.

Ronny was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Jonita Smith. He is survived by his partner of 25 years, Richard Samya; his sisters, Sherri Lynn Smith, Joanne Crawford (and her husband Jeff), Kathy Blount (and her husband Daniel), his brother, Ralph Hamilton Smith (and his wife Jeni), nieces, nephews and numerous cousins, all of whom he loved and who loved him back.

Dear Richard and family,

We are going to miss Ronny so much. We have such good memories of all the times coming to Spring Branch and then you two repaying the visit by coming to Galveston for Mardi Gras and Schlitterbahn or maybe for no reason at all other than to get together. Ronny loved going to the wonderful seafood restaurants and getting his coconut shrimp. So glad we got that last visit in last October on the cruise even though it was tough on him. I've known Ronny since 1979 and we did a lot of fun things together in college and after and then even more good times after he met you. God Bless and may Ronny rest in peace.

We love you

My condolences to Ronny´s family. Ronny was one of the kindest people in high school. He always had the most beautiful smile on his face. Love you Ronny!
