TIMOTHY WAYNE PRAY McALLEN - Timothy Wayne Pray, October 1st, 1957 to June 18th, 2015. Born in DeQuincy Louisiana, Tim was the son of a preacher man. In 1963, Tim's parents, John and Cora were called to the mission field, which brought them to the Valley. He attended PSJA high school. Known to most as Spook, he was born the day that they launched Sputnik so the nurse told his parents, "Here is your little Sputnik" but when Tim was old enough to talk, someone asked him what his name was, all Tim could pronounce was "Spook". Thus, the legend was born. A certified Master Mechanic, Tim could fix anything from a watch to a race car. Not only would he use this skill to make a living but to bless all those around him. Whether at the race track or his shop, everyone knew that they could count on Tim to do the job right and always with a smile on his face. He worked in the McAllen area as a mechanic his entire life but spent most of his career at McAllen Automotive, which he worked at and then later owned. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was by Jensen's side at all of his races and attended Luke's and Miles games on a regular basis. Survived by wife, Cheryl Pray, children Luke (Natalie) Basham, Jensen (Stacey) Pray, grandchildren: Miles Basham, Callan and Makayla Pray, brothers: Johnny, Phil and Jimmy (Kolly), sisters: Tabitha (Tom) Bynum and Becky Marina and numerous nephews and nieces. Preceding him in death are his parents, John and Cora Pray and brother, Stephen, sister, Rosie, and sister-in-law, Annette Pray. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church in Edinburg, 201 E. Samano at 10am Wednesday, June 24th. The family suggests that friends make memorial contributions to The Tim Pray fund, 101 Yuma #22, McAllen, TX 78503.
