Uldene Higgins Obituary

ULDENE HOPE HIGGINS
Weslaco- Uldene Hope Higgins, 90, passed away Dec. 2, 2006 in Weslaco. Mrs. Higgins was born in New Douglas, IL on Feb. 14, 1916 to Hugo and Dora Latowsky. She is a graduate of Edwardsville, Illinois High School and graduated from James A. Milliken University in 1939 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Mrs. Higgins taught elementary in Freeburg, Illinois and Bloomington, Indiana. She lived for thirteen years in South Bend, Indiana and was active as a choral director along with her husband, H. Lee Hope, former Director of Bands at Notre Dame University. They moved to Evansville, IL in 1955 where they were co-workers of H&H Music Service.
There will be a memorial service at John Knox Village in Weslaco in March of 2007 and a later service in Hillsboro, IL.
Friends who wish may make memorial contribution of KMC Hospice Care Services, P.O. Box 1110, Weslaco, TX 78599. Arrangements are under the direction of McCaleb Funeral Home of Weslaco.
