WELDON WEST Obituary

WELDON C. WEST, JR.
Weldon C. West, Jr., 90, of Banquete, Texas, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He and his wife lived in McAllen, Texas for 43 years and they owned and operated a Western Auto Store in McAllen and then he worked for Sears & Roebuck Company for 28 years, managing five departments. He was a member and Deacon in Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen where he was a sponsor of the youth group.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gwendolyn Holder West of Banquete, Texas; 19 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 A.M. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel in Corpus Christi.
Graveside services were at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission, Texas.
Those who wish, may make contributions to their favorite charity.

Gwen I'm so sorry we didn't know that Weldon had gone home. Mom told me tonight that they'd lost touch & wanted to know if I knew a way to find you so I tried google . I'll let her know about Weldon but I know she'd love for you to get in touch with her. Love you, Brenda Carter Gatlin
