WILLIAM STOCKER Obituary

WILLIAM THOMAS STOCKER
William Thomas Stocker was born on October 2, 1982 in McAllen, Texas and entered into the nearer presence of our Lord on December 6, 2010. He is the son of Mary Ellen and Tom Stocker.
William graduated from McAllen High School in 2001 and Texas A&M University in 2006 where he earned a degree in Agricultural Systems Management. After college, he took a job in management at Eden Lawn & Landscaping in San Antonio. Most recently, he began a new career at Enterprise Commercial Paving in Houston, Texas.
William served the Lord throughout his life and always took time to give back to the community. He was active in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. William played many sports and was involved in the youth program at St. John's Episcopal Church-McAllen.
While at Texas A&M University, William played guitar at the Canterbury Campus Ministry each week. He was proud of the outreach, leadership and building opportunity he took on the group's Costa Rica Mission Trip in 2005. William's love for the youth, the staff and camp property at Camp Capers cannot be overstated. He served as the Music Director at Camp Capers Youth Summer Camp for two full summers while in college. Most recently, he participated in a Men's Retreat and Work Weekend there.
William was passionate about many things including hunting, fishing, BBQ'ing, water and snow skiing, and playing his acoustic guitar. Recently, he began building BBQ pits and sold his first earlier this year. He would go out his way to help you "get the job done right", as he'd often said.
William loved his niece Jocelyn and cherished the many moments he shared with her over the past fourteen months. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his parents Tom and Mary Ellen; brothers Spencer and Andrew; sister-in-law Wendy and niece/god-daughter Jocelyn; his dearly loved dog Nikki; and the extended Stocker/Payne/Lyssy families in the Valley and across Texas.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00p.m. with a Prayer Service on Friday, December 10 at 7:00 PM at Kreidler Funeral Home. Everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating William's life at a Holy Eucharist Service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11 at St. John's Episcopal Church in McAllen with a reception following.
There is no way for our family to thank everyone enough for the love, support, and encouragement we have received these past five weeks. To honor William, please make all Memorial contributions to Diocese of West Texas, Memo: Camp Capers/Stocker, P. O. Box 6885, San Antonio, Texas 78209 kreidlerfuneralhome.com

Thinking about the Stocker family. I am so sorry for your dear loss.

December 9, 2010

I am so saddened to hear this devastating news. I remember Will and all of the boys with deep affection in my time at St. John's. Will was a remarkable young man even as a teenager. I especially remember his work as an acolyte and as an exemplary Boy Scout; his smile and personality were infectious, and his faith in Jesus Christ as solid as a rock. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten. Love to you all, Nancy Coon+
