I lived across the street from Dan and Nan for 30+ years. He was such a great man. Always had a kind word or joke. He will be missed. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

So sorry to lose such a good neighbor. Dan went by our house several times a day and would always honk and wave. Sometimes he would stop and ask if we didn't want to buy one of his Cadillacs. Now he can play racquetball with Doctor Sandel on a new court. Sure will miss him.

So very sorry to learn of Dan's passing. He and Nan were always two of my parents favorite people and welcome additions to Dad's choir at the Methodist Church.

First met Dan when I was working at Dean Burger Pontiac. When he would call, he would ask if I was Ellie Mae or Ellie Sue. We shared a birthday, and we would call each other on that day. Was a very nice guy and finally got to meet him and Nancy face to face when they bought a vehicle from Dean.

For all who love Dan Greening, and there are many of us, I share your sorrow and give you my deepest sympathy. My husband Chuck and I often would tease Dan that he was our favorite used car salesman. Since we left Alma in 1988, every car we drove came from Dan, and every car was a silver Buick. He and Chuck became fast friends, and often would meet around the state for pie. When Chuck died, Dan made sure that I had one rocksolid car to drive.
But Dan was so much more than a used car salesman. He was gracious, kind, smart, community oriented, a consummate gentleman, and funny. Every phone conversation had at least one groaner joke, and he would insist that we share it with others. And it was so clear that he adored Nancy and was proud of her achievements.
If there are no silver Buicks in heaven, I have no doubt that Dan and Chuck are sitting over pieces of pie, conspiring how to get them there.
