Dick Gibbs Obituary

Dick Gibbs, 52, passed away suddenly on May 28, 2011. Dick was born on Dec. 15, 1958 in Albion and was raised by Jane and Dick Geiger. He married Amy Hamblin on June 5, 1982 in Edmore. Amy passed away Dec. 24, 1995, after battling with a long illness. On July 12, 1997 Dick married his second wife, Connie in Alma. Dick worked for Equitable Resources for four years, and has worked in the oil industry for over 30 years. He loved to hunt, camp, boat and ride his Harley. Dick loved to work, and any task that needed to be done, he was the first to volunteer to help. He will be greatly missed by his family and numerous friends.
Dick was predeceased by his wife, Amy; his parents and his mother in law.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; children Courtney Gibbs, Cody (Elizabeth) Gibbs, Joshua Gibbs, Brandon Moreland, Danielle Moreland and Michael Gibbs; grandchild, Jaedynn Preston; siblings Kelly (Mike) Beard, Gail Hamblin, Mark (Rebecca) Hamblin, Jill McLees, Lynn (Rick) Bandfield and Jody (Mike) Randall, Dave (Lori) Sallek, Chris Sallek, Angela (Bill) Wrisley, Denise Cummings and James Cummings; parents-in-law Francis Jones, and George and Esther Hamblin; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very special friends, Linda and Boyd Lewis.
A funeral service for Dick will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at the Brigham Funeral Chapel, Vestaburg, officiated by Pastor Bob Benson of the Lakeview Seventh Day Adventist Church. The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, as well as an hour prior to the service on Wednesday. It has been many years since I have seen Dick. I am Terri (Gibbs) Miller. Our father's are brothers. I still live in Albion, Michigan and heard from Dick's cousin Mike King that he had passed away. My thoughts are with his family and Kelly and her family. Take care.
