Eric "Rick" Chick

1948 - 2022

Eric "Rick" Chick; age 73 of Alma, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at University of Michigan Hospital. Rick was born August 17, 1948 the son of Clare and Leota (Loudenbeck) Chick. He enjoyed golf, his food, and telling jokes, but mostly getting together with family and friends. Rick loved teasing his grandchildren and daughters-in-law. He married Kathy Moeggenberg on July 16, 1971. In his early years he sold farm equipment and would later go on to work in the insurance industry for over 30 years and owned his own agency as well. He took pride in his yard and keeping a clean car. Rick served in the Army National Guard. Rick was a positive person who enjoyed laughing and being around people, he will be missed by those who knew him. Rick is survived by his wife Kathy; 2 sons Steve (Treena) Chick of St. Charles and Scott (Kimberly) Chick of Port Huron; 4 grandchildren Alyssa, Carson, Rilyn, and Landyn; great grandson Shepherd; sister Colleen (Kevyn) Godley of Breckenridge; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and golf buddies. Rick is preceded by both his parents; daughter Sherri Bradford; grandson Aidyn Chick; brother Larry Chick; and sister Shelly Sali. Services for Rick will be Tuesday, March 8 at St. Vincent de Paul at 11 a.m. with Father Fred Thelen officiating. There will be visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Services will also be livestreamed on the St. Vincent de Paul Facebook page and YouTube channel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial contributions be made on behalf of Rick to the charity of your choice.
