Nick Warona Obituary

Nick Warona, III age 79 of Riverdale, Michigan, formerly of Indiana passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 27, 1943, in Gary, Indiana the son of Nick and Virginia (Ead) Warona, II. He worked for over 40 years as an electrician for Sargent Electric in Indiana, before his retirement. He married JoEllen Bass on December 16, 2020.

Nick loved the outdoors, particularly for hunting and fishing. His hunting adventures took him to Alaska, Canada and Missouri. His grandkids will remember golf cart rides around his Vestaburg property to look for deer and wildlife. Nick enjoyed his morning coffee on his porch where he could see the hummingbirds on the feeders. Nick preferred to live a simple life but loved being surrounded by family for BBQ's and to rake up all the oak leaves in the fall. Nick is survived by his strong, loving wife, JoEllen; his sister, Virginia (Bob); his children, Jeffrey (Shannon) Warona, Heidi Warona, Miranda Sanders, Julie Bass, Stephanie (Thomas) Stevens, Branden Sanders; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Annabelle, Amara, MaLayna, Garrick, Zayden, and Liam. He was preceded in death by Patricia Warona, his parents and half-sister, Lupe. Per Nick's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Riverdale, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer's research.
