Richard Trofatter Obituary

TROFATTER, RICHARD KENDAL, age 66, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital. Funeral Services for Rick will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 12 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Rick was born September 27, 1955, in St. Ignace, the son of Robert and Velma (Wiertalla) Trofatter. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, class of 1973. Rick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked for Chase Run Apartments for many years as their maintenance supervisor. Rick loved being outdoors; time spent with his family at The Rolston Family Pond making memories singing and playing guitar around the bonfire. His family was everything to him; he was the best husband, dad, and papa. Rick was a worker and always busy doing projects and loved to teach the grandkids to be one of the chosen ones to drive the tractor. He played guitar for "The Garage Band" for family and local gigs. Most of all, Rick will be remembered for his generosity helping anyone in need. Rick is survived by his wife Judy Trofatter; son Jeremy Trofatter of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Melissa (Jeremy) Deming of Shepherd; grandchildren Cayden Deming, Kendal Trofatter, Austin Deming, Kylie Trofatter; mother-in-law Joyce Rolston of Mt. Pleasant; siblings Mary (Jim) Myszka of Rockford, Rob Trofatter of National City, Shannon (John) Shelton of Ossineke, David Trofatter of Mt. Pleasant, Gary Trofatter of Ossineke, and Dixie (Bryon) Cartledge of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law Louann Rolston; and many nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Doug and William Trofatter; parents-in-law Dorothy and Bob Reynolds; father-in-law Guy Rolston; brothers-in-law Rick Rolston, Randy (Debbie) Rolston, Mike (Jolene) Rolston; and sister-in-law Angela Trofatter.
