Thomas J. Courter

1959 - 2021

Thomas J Courter; age 62 of Alma, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at MyMichigan Medical Center Gratiot. Tom was born August 2, 1959 the son of Arthur and Kathryn (Feltman) Courter. He enjoyed golf, walleye fishing, going to concerts, traveling, coloring and doing puzzles with grandkids, and even waterskied into his later 50s. He loved Halloween and passing candy out to kids. Tom loved going to birch shores resort every year and pulling grandchildren on the tube. He loved going on an annual color tour in the fall. Tom was a diehard Michigan and Red Wings fan. He was a jokester who always had a toothpick and mint in his mouth. He never said no to people and was always there to help others. His Children and grandchildren were always number one to him. Tom is survived by his significant other Barb Jason; children Jason Courter, Mathew Courter, Brooke (Brandon) Courter, Cory (Bailey) Courter, Jacob (Kristen) Garcia, David Whitney, Michael Garcia, Curtis (Brittney) Jason, and Brandon (Cassie) Jason; grandchildren Alexander, Kaytlyn, Dakota, Bailey, Sophie, Ellie, Aliana, Calvin, Ramiro, Miguel, Emilio, Sadie, Hunter, Charlee, AJ, Sophia, Mia, and Aldric; siblings Janice (Butch) Courter, Elaine (Dan) Fleming, Juanita (Cam) Edwards, Jean (Terry) Davenport, James (Christine) Courter, Kathy (Kyle) Wilhelm, and Laura (Stephanie) Courter, Braelynn, Kahlie, and Isaac; and many nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by both his parents; siblings Butch Courter, Karen Mills, Mary Courter, and Ann Courter; brother-in-laws William Mills Jr. and Cam Edwards; and nephew Todd Mills. Services for Tom will be Monday, December 27, at 12 noon at Berry Funeral Home with Pastor John Robinson officiating. There will be visitation on Sunday, December 26 from 2 to 8 p.m.
