Ray and I spent 4 years at Tulane together with a great group of fellow students in Geology. Among them were Charlie Heslin, Al Lapauyade, Bobby Beyer,Gene Menetre, Jimmy Bordelon, and our professors especially Dr. Johnson. We had a lot of good times together both on and off the campus. Two of our favorite places were the Daucheus house and the famous hangout the Golden Rod.Ray was always a lot of fun and totally optimistic in all things. And as it said in his obit he
had a great joy of life.
I will miss him but I will cherish my memories we had together during the 4 years at Tulane. Rest well my friend.

Ray always felt like a brother to me, and it is very hard to express my feelings of his passing. We shared so many good times together - fishing, shrimping, and harvesting wild oysters at the shell pile. I will always cherish the fun and laughter that followed with the many family fish fries, crab, shrimp, and crawfish boils. We continue the tradition that now spans four generations our families still enjoy today.
Kelley has a special place in her heart for Ray. He was our best man at our wedding. Knowing how much Ray meant to me has carried through to her. While she only shared a few moments of his life, he touched hers forever through his loyal friendship to me. She has heard more stories about Ray and I to feel like she has known him a lifetime.
It is with extreme heart felt sympathies that we share your sorrow at his loss. May you always remember what a great friend and companion he was to me and how much he meant to all those who loved him. Ray has touched the lives of my children and Kelley, and we will all miss him greatly.
All our love and prayers,
Robin and Kelley Johnson

I. Kelly
