James David "Jim" Miller Jr.

1950 - 2025

James "Jim" David Miller Jr., 74, of Eastview, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025, at University of Louisville hospital with his loving family.

Jim was born Jan. 17, 1950, in Rineyville, to the late James David and Doris Jean Duncan Miller.

He was a devoted member and elder at Fair Farm Baptist Church. He was retired from Kevin Lucas Trucking after more than 30 years of service. More recently, he was a favorite fixture at Rural King, where he was lovingly known as Grandpa. He was known for his love of people and animals. He always had a story or joke for everyone, never meeting a stranger. He had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Miller.

Survivors include his wife of almost 32 years, Karen Miller; three children, Weslene Dillard (Bruce), Jamie Miller (Sara) and Jodie Miller; eight grandchildren, Mara Kolke (Peter), Bryce Dillard, Kodie Miller (Amber), Logan Miller, Bentley Miller, Courtney Miller (Jacob), Charissa Constant (Brandon) and Brooke Martin (Deshun); a sister, Sherry Miller (Gene); four special nieces and nephews, Michael Miller, Valerie Bailey, Jacob Miller and Madi Bailey; his favorite "Tater Bug," great-grandchild, Charlotte Kolke; he also was blessed with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street in Elizabethtown with Brother Kenny Merritt officiating. Burial follows in Howevalley Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and continues from 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
